No. 2 in The Independent's '50 best Country Pubs'
In November 1999 with the help of friends, family and villagers we bought and refurbished a closed and run down village pub in the pretty village of Clipsham. Our aim was simply to serve great food and drink in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, the kind of place we'd love to go to eat and relax, to get away from those great expectations of the 5 star establishments we'd previously worked in !
We are honoured to have been awarded many accolades over the past 10 years, not something we set out to achieve, but something that we hope recognises our passion. We have worked with many wonderful people and have enjoyed entertaining many many wonderful guests all of whom make The Olive Branch the special place it has become.
In 2006 we added rooms in Beech House across the road. Six individually decorated bedrooms with beautiful antique french beds, crisp cotton sheets and luxurious bathrooms.
We will continue to cook and host all those customers who continue to return and many more we hope, with the very simply aspiration of providing,
"Great food and drink in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere"
