In informal wine evening with Even Bakke Winemaker and Owner of Clos Des Trias, Ventoux
Born in Colorado, raised in the USA and Norway, Even Andreas Bakke has taken part in and run 14 vintages of winemaking in California in vineyards such as Matanzas Creek and Landmark until 2007 when, after a 3-year search, he has started his own winery in the south of France, in Provence. While in California, during his studies of technical craft necessary to winemaking, he has come to the conviction that good wine needs no technology. Even purely follows his penchant to experimentation, his intuition and his know-how.
French wines, made by an American raised in Norway living in France, matched to French food with a Rutland twist cooked by an Englishman and served by a Southern African (and a few of his colleagues).. what could be more fun. A great informal evening in the pub discovering from great wines from the foothills of Ventoux…
An evening of elegant wine, informative anecdotes and French dishes .
The evening starts at 7pm around the bar, an opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests. At 7.30 dinner will be served at your individual tables in the pub dining rooms, it will be an informal evening, with traditional French barsserie dishes (with an Olive Branch twist). The wines will be served by the team and introduced by Even, he will also be mindgling and will be happy to chat and answer any questions.
It is probably best to have booked a taxi home, you are welcome to leave your car here overnight or book one of our 6 luxurious rooms at Beech House.
We are sure you will have an enjoyable evening, with good food, great wines and convivial company, and hopefully you will have learned something about the magic of wine.
