Thursday 21 May
A chance to discover the wines of Cantina Tramin, one of the leading producers in northern Italy’s Alto Adige region.
Cantina Tramin is based in the village of Tramin (Termeno), set among steep vineyards in the foothills of the Dolomites. This is a region shaped by altitude, cool alpine air and long sunshine hours, producing wines with clarity, balance and strong varietal character.
The Cantina Tramin cooperative brings together local growers, many working small, high-altitude plots. Grapes are carefully handled from vineyard to cellar, where modern winemaking is guided by a clear focus on expressing site and grape variety. The region is best known for aromatic whites, particularly Gewürztraminer, which takes its name from the village itself.
Hosted by Sigrid Pichler from Cantina Tramin and Marcus Welford, the evening will explore a range of wines from the estate, each paired with a seasonal menu from our kitchen team.
The evening starts in The Barn at 7pm for drinks, before sitting down at 7.30pm for dinner, with wines served alongside each course.
On the night, Sigrid and Marcus will guide you through the wines, explaining the vineyards, grape varieties and winemaking decisions behind each glass.
We recommend arranging transport home, although cars can be left overnight. Alternatively, you may wish to stay in one of our six rooms at Beech House, just across the road.
Expect good food, well-matched wines and a relaxed, sociable evening.
