Aromas of honey-drizzled white peaches, orange blossoms, marzipan and ginger with savory wafts of struck match (sulfides) and baking bread. Light to medium-bodied, taut and with a wicked backbone of racy acid, it gives a great intensity of citrus and savoury flavours and great length.

Blend - Hand picked Chardonnay is sourced from the home vineyard that dates back to 1981. Grapes are whole bunch pressed and transferred directly to French oak barrels (15% new) and left to undergo indigenous primary and secondary malolactic fermentations for 18 months in barrel. The resulting wine was bottled without fining and with only minimal filtration.

Winemaker - Established in 2002 by partners Ivan & Margaret Sutherland, and James & Wendy Healy. Ivan and James worked together at the oh-so-famous ‘Cloudy Bay’ and decided they wanted to branch out and make wines on their own, and we are oh-so-glad they did. ‘Dog Point Vineyards’ is located in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, arguably New Zealand’s most iconic winegrowing region. The Vineyard and winery are certified organic and promote environmentally friendly, sustainable and thoughtful winemaking practices.
