Gavi di Gavi 2023, Bric Sassi, DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Cortese grapes give citrus aromas, floral, white peach fruit, pleasant mineral tone & crisp finish.

Tasting Notes - Medium-bodied and silky with plenty of juicy peach and pear fruit alongside stony minerality. Perfect for summer drinking... or for when you want to be reminded of summer! Outstanding with any fish-based dish, and with hot and cold hors-d'oeuvres

Blend - Cortese 100%

Producer - Roberto & Aurora Sarottos 12 hectare Tenuta Manenti estate is perfectly placed to grow exquisite Cortese grapes for their fine Gavi del Comune di Gavi wines; the nutrient poor white soils focussing Cortese's energy into the fruit, not the leaves. Huge emphasis is put on the cultivation of the vines, with the belief that good wine stems from the vine, and develops in the cellar. Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, the Cortese Gavi - Bric Sassi - is from the upper, higher part (the bric) of the single 12 hectare vineyard Zerbetta, strewn with stones (sassi), which consistently treats us to ethereal, honeydew, white flower Gavi. The Bric Sassi vineyard enjoys a privileged position in the Gavi growing area. Here the vineyards mostly face due south, and are made up of 40-year-old vines. The result is a big wine, worked traditionally using modern techniques. Long, coll fermentation and matured for 2 months in stainless steel tanks and 2 months in bottle

Alcohol percentage – 12.5%
